With anything I write, my guiding philosophy is the ancient art of storytelling. This includes when I am helping  a business craft a marketing communication piece. For instance, if I am writing an ad, brochure, etc., I want to tell the company's story in a way that makes the reader want to do business with them:

If I am writing a corporate newsletter, white paper, etc., I want to frame my client's expertise and present it to their audience:
